Struggling to progress your extension project alone & don't want to spend a fortune on professional help?

Unsure what to do when?

Not sure what approvals you need?

Concerned about design / build cost?

You're not alone in your struggles and concerns

I see many people trying to "go it alone" online every day, and that's also where I see the many mistakes that are being made. Avoidable mistakes that end up costing - they cost time & money and bring lots of stress.

Mistakes such as -

Thinking their project doesn't need planning permission.

This one comes up repeatedly!

Have you ever been told by a builder that your extension doesn't need planning permission, when in fact, it does?

Don't leave it to chance as you could risk having to take down what you build if you can't obtain permission for it.

We'll help you get clear on what you need to obtain permission for, and what permission(s) you need before you get too far along and waste time and money.

Not submitting the correct information with planning applications.

Each application has its own set of circumstances meaning there are a multitude of documents which may be required to support any given planning application.

If you submit yours without the correct documentation your applictaion will be delayed.

Avoid these delays by getting guidance on what you need for your specific project.

Using inappropriate materials for the construction of their home.

Not many people outside of the construction industry, and even many in it, don't have a thorough understanding of how older buildings work.

Buildings such as oak framed houses, or solid walled houses, need to be treated differently to modern cavity wall or modern timber framed buildings.

Using modern materials on older properties means you risk causing more issues than you solve, especially relating to problems with moisture, damp and rot.

Our architect has many years experience of working with historic buildings and can advise on appropriate methods of upgrading these types of houses.

Don't build in issues for down the line!

Let us help you get it right first time.

Not having a standard form of construction contract in place

This is possibly the biggest cause of problems that I see online on a daily basis.

Every project should have some form of contract, and not one provided by the builder which is not impartial.

Standard forms of contract protect both parties and set out clearly the parameters of the project.

Why would you risk your investment of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of pounds of your hard earned money on a building project and not have a tried and tested contract in place to help protect you?

Avoid these mistakes by getting guidance from our team of construction professionals without spending a fortune on fees by joining the D.R.E.A.M UK Home Extension Support Network

Support Network framework

For over 5 years now I have been helping people inside my own Facebook group, and inside other peoples' groups, and I absolutely love it!

But I see a need which goes beyond a free Facebook group.

I see a need for low cost, quick access to a range of construction professionals to assist homeowners like you with your extension projects by providing clear advice on any aspect of your project.

Too often I see people trying to go it alone to save money, however, in doing so it often ends up costing them more to put right mistakes that are made along the way, and the process definitely becomes more stressful than it needs to be.

I also see people asking questions inside Facebook groups and getting so many conflicting, and often incorrect, answers that they end up more confused than before they asked. This doesn't have to be the case.

Or, worse than that, as many of these groups are not properly moderated, they get abusive and sarcastic responses to their questions which leave them feeling stupid and attacked.

These mistakes & this stress can be avoided with the right guidance & support, and a properly moderated space, such as my free Facebook group, can be a safe space which helps empower people to make the most of their projects.

That is why I have created the D.R.E.A.M UK Home Extension Support Network - so you can get support all the way through your project, as much or as little as you need, from various experienced professionals, without fear of judgement, and without breaking the bank, to help prevent you making the same mistakes I see many people make when they try to save money and do it all themselves, whilst leaving you with more money to invest in the actual build than if you hire, for example, an architect in the traditional manner.

Architecture is for everyone, regardless of budget!
