About

CK Architecture was founded by Charlotte Knott in 2018. Charlotte is an RIBA Chartered Architect who has worked with practices in Hereford and Worcester since 2009.

Charlotte specialises in residential architecture, and enjoys working closely with homeowners to make the most of their homes. Much of Charlotte's experience lies in projects such as small extensions and re-modelling projects, new build houses and sustainable architecture. She is an advocate of sustainable architecture and enjoys designing to a high degree of sustainability including utilising high levels of thermal insulation, ventilation (passive or via MVHR systems) and solar gain to minimise the reliance on fossil fuels; including technologies such as photovoltaics, ground and air source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting and recycling, high levels of air tightness & mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems (MVHR); and using natural materials that are locally sourced where possible.

Charlotte is also a Certified PassivHaus Designer, so if you are considering constructing a low energy home that is comfortable and cheap to heat then please get in touch.

Since gaining her bachelor's degree Charlotte has worked in practices in Hereford and Worcester, where she has gained experience in working on projects including house extensions, remodelling and refurnishing projects for both listed and un-listed properties; loft conversion schemes; new build house design, including sustainable dwellings; schemes for multiple houses; conversion of existing  buildings into flats; new facilities within churches; clubhouses for sports clubs and community centres; swimming pools for private clients.

Charlotte is listed on the ARB's Register of Architects and is an RIBA chartered architect and certified Passivhaus designer.

Charlotte also runs CK Architecture Academy, which offers online courses to homeowners who want to extend their homes. In her career Charlotte has come across many clients who have a clear idea of what they want from their home, but require just a little assistance to get the project over the line. These courses provide clients with the skills necessary to design their own extension and submit the necessary planning applications, whilst being guided throughout by Charlotte and her wealth of experience in this area.
